2007 Cadillac DTS Features

What Makes The 2007 Cadillac DTS So Special

In a nod to Cadillac traditionalists, the DTS serves as the brand’s big full sized sedan favored by limousine driver and well heeled retirees. As with all Cadillac models, the DTS has followed the name direction of many other Cadillac vehicles as it was updated in 2006. Previously, the big Caddy was known as the Deville, so essentially the DTS simply carries on the banner but under a different model name.

As expected with any traditional sized Cadillac, the DTS comes fully equipped. With the 4.6L V8 as the only engine available, consumers can elect to go with a performance tuned version of the engine that puts out 291 h.p. versus the 275 h.p. produced by the standard model. Front and rear independent suspension, traction control, antilock brakes, vehicle theft and deterrent systems, and side airbags can be found with every DTS sold.

Cadillac owners will note one important change with the DTS that showed up in 2006 and is evident on the 2007 model as well: the traditional bench seating for front passengers has been replaced by bucket seats. Never fear, if you still want the traditional seating arrangement in your DTS you can get that as an option. Therefore, the five passenger seating limitation of the standard model can be expanded to include six passengers with the bench seat upfront.

The DTS holds its own versus its chief competitors the Lincoln Town Car and Lexus LS 430 sedan. Indeed, the DTS is closer to the Town Car in size and much more reasonably priced than the Lexus which starts at about $56,000. The DTS retails for just over $41,000 with the top of the line model priced at about $48,000, a full $8,000 less than the top of the line Lincoln.

So, if you are seeking the full manifestation of traditional Cadillac size and pillow soft ride, then the DTS is worthy of your consideration as one of the few cars left on the road capable of meeting these expectations.
