Last week I shared a story from Tony in South Africa who was restoring a 1937 Cadillac LaSalle. I got a lot of comments from members asking for pictures of the final restore but Tony didn’t have any yet. Well today Tony sent me an email full of pictures and I decided to make a post on the main site with them.
It may take a few seconds to load the page but the wait is well worth it. Check out Tony’s 1937 Cadillac and tell me you are not impressed. Then come back here and leave a comment letting Tony know what a great job that was done. On the bottom of the page I will link back to this post so you can just click on that and be back on this page to leave a comment.
Do You Use a Kindle?
I have been getting questions on one of my other websites about putting together a kindle book and was wondering if any of our members and readers use a Kindle and would be interested in a Kindle book if I made it. If you know me I will probably make one anyway since I love doing new things like that. I have thousands of pictures of Cadillacs that have never made it on to the site and the new Kindle Fire lets users see pictures in color now so I am thinking about that.

What a great job on that LaSalle. I love what you did to her. Kudos from a Yank that has one 13 years newer. Mine is a 1950 Series 61 Sedan fully restored to original. She’s like a member of our family.

What a great job of work . No matter how my times i see before, during and after restoratoin pictures I am always facinated. What decent ‘ bones” the car had when taken down to bear metal. As another commented you’d never see that in NE USA . I was particually impressed by the gleaming undeside all fresh and sparking new.
Hope you enjoy your “Sallie” for many years to come.

I am simultaneously intrigued and in awe of restorations or should I say rebirths of this nature. The amazing transformation from the before to the after is stunning. Tony should be rightfully proud of his accomplishment and thanked by us all for saving this Grand Dame and sharing her revival with the world. Good job, Tony, enjoy your piece of automotive history and what many would call art. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Truly amazing!
It’s something that could be compared to a kid’s story book where an old worn down, but special toy gets discovered in an attic somewhere and the kid sees it, picks it up, is drawn to it and something about the toy makes the kid want to treasure it and preserve it and as time goes on the once kid now an adult rediscovers the old toy and visions it as a treasured jewel. The adult then goes to work on the toy, meticulously restores it piece by piece, day after day, and finally brings that vision to fruition. And there it sits, after coming from a pathetic looking old dust and dirt covered jalopy looking thing, now into a beautiful shiny piece of art work, just bubbling with radiance, vigor and glory.

This appears to be a very thorough refinish, I was curious to see what the interior look like, maybe Tony would share a few pictures with us.
Hats off to another Cadillac fan from the colds of Northern Canada

Tony , fantastic restoration job, U should be very proud of what U have done your ’37 over.
Now your ’37 Cadillac LaSalle needs to be hand drawn and hand painted on a T-shirt if you want one.
Their $60.00 each, front-side on the front of an excellent quality T-shirt made by Guildan,
or $100.00 each front-side on the front and rear-side on the back. If You would like to see some examples of my work, go to the Cadillac Counrty Club automotive art forum and click on any Daves Cadillac Art and see the art work that I have already done on Cadillacs and LaSalles on T-shirts that I have already done.
If you would like 2 or more T-shirts made for the whole family, I can make them at a reduced rate, help you out with costs.
You can contact me anytime if you are interested in having one done,
my new email is : carslovei@hotmail.ca not .com. I was hacked into the one with .com at the end.
Thankyou,

Hi Vinny,
I hate to be the one to tell you this but this car is NOT a LASALLE! This is a 1937 Cadillac Series 60 Four Door Touring Sedan. The Series 60 also had a 2 passenger coupe, a 2 door convertible, and a four door convertible sedan. It had a 346 cu. in. 135 HP V8 engine. The 1937 LaSalle had a much narrower grille than the Cadillac and completely different hood louvers. It had a 322 cu. in. V8 engine that developed 125 HP.
This car is actually more valuable than a LaSalle, because it is a true Cadillac. LaSalle was built by Cadillac but wasn’t actually a Cadillac, kind of like the Packard 120 and the Lincoln Zephyr.
