Not something you see everyday but while walking around the New York International Auto Show I stumbled across an art gallery of sorts. The people from Gartelcars.com had about 15-20 autos from all makes and models and they had them wrapped in art. It looked pretty nice but I am sure the purist will not like it. Here is the first one, a 1956 Cadillac that was sold in Brooklyn NY and later lived it’s life in Florida.
The second Cadillac they had was a 1984 Cadillac Coupe Deville. The Deville sold a few minutes before I got there. He said he sold 2 cars and he hadn’t been open more than an hour.
I would love to hear your thoughts on these cars. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Never thought of myself as a “purist”, but I guess I have to now. These are not for me.

I had mixed feelings myself when I was taking the video. It did look cool but in a strange way I was thinking it was so wrong.
Lloyd Armour says
not impressed. It ruines the Cadillac completely.

Wow!! One must hand it to the guy who did this; it is literally “fantastic”…in the truest sense of the word. Given that Art should be a living thing, I guess painting a car like this is one way of demonstrating that!!! But to put it onto a classic car does go against the grain with me. And to paint a beautiful ’56 Caddy (like mine!) really shocks! One could better excuse it on a modern van or even on a VW Microbus! Still, maybe those cars on which the artist performed his skill will enjoy being ‘different’, and, who knows, they may be even more valuable to a collector!! I’m keeping my ’56-er pink!
Craig Carsner says
I would never own the car. However, art celebrates itself in all fashions. Let it be a Cadillac!
