I was passed along some information from our friends at the New England region of the Cadillac & LaSalle club that I think some of our members would like to know about. I am planning on attending if I get the house rebuilt by then of course. It looks like a great event and I know we have some Cadillac Club members in the area that may want to go so I am passing on all the info that Chris has sent us.
2013 CLC Grand National
July 31 – August 3
Boston, Massachusetts
Welcome to Boston!
The New England Region welcomes members of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club to Boston, Massachusetts July 31 to August 3 for the 2013 CLC Grand National.
The history of Boston plays a central role in American history. In 1630, Puritan colonists from England founded the town, which quickly became the political, commercial, financial, religious and educational center of the region. The American Revolution erupted in Boston, as the British retaliated harshly for the Boston Tea Party, and the patriots fought back. Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Dr. Samuel Prescott made their famous midnight rides to alert the Minutemen in the surrounding towns, who fought the resulting Battle of Lexington and Concord in April 1775. It was the first battle of the American Revolution. General George Washington claimed victory a the Battle of Bunker Hill. The American victory occurred on March 17, 1776. The city has preserved and celebrated its revolutionary past, from the harboring of the USS Constitution to the many famous sites along the Freedom Trail.
Our host hotel is located in Quincy, Massachusetts, the home of the second President of the United States, John Adams, who was instrumental in the drafting of the Declaration of Independence. His son, John Quincy Adams, would also later be elected President.
