While I didn’t go to the NY Auto show this year to see it in person Cadillac just put out a video with some of the details in their new electric vehicle the Lyriq.
I know most of our readers are classic Cadillac guys we always have to keep an eye on the future. I really like the design except the silver emblems.

At this point I am pretty sure my next car will be electric so I am trying to keep up with all the technology that is involved. I am glad Cadillac is going back to naming cars with actual names instead of trying to copy the foreign car market.
Cadillac dealers will be taking LYRIQ orders starting May 19. The cars are being built in Spring Hill Tennessee.
The Lyriq comes standard in rear-wheel-drive form with an electric motor at the rear axle. All-wheel drive is optional and adds a second electric motor at the front to power the front wheels. Cadillac hasn’t released any details about the Lyriqs’ all-wheel drive powertrains yet, so we don’t exactly know how much horsepower they’ll make. The rear-wheel drive version is said to produce 340 hp. Either way, acceleration will be quick, at least at low speeds, thanks to the instantaneous nature of an electric motor’s power delivery. 0-60 in 4.3 seconds is very fast for any car and I am sure everyone will love the power.
It is nice to see Cadillac come into the market with an SUV instead of one of those tiny electric vehicle’s being pushed on us from other car companies.
What are your thoughts? Are you going electric?
