Today I am writing this newsletter from my brothers house in Syracuse New York as I had a mandatory evacuation due to hurricane Irene. When the Mayor gave the mandatory order I decided that houses can be replaced but your life can’t. I have received over 50 emails asking if I was ok so I figure I make a post to let everyone know we are ok. The water was about a foot from coming in my house as you can see from the picture.

Jim’s 1967 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Hard Top
This week I received an email from Jim with pictures of his 1967 Cadillac. Here is the email:
Good morning Vinny,
I am pleased to have joined your Cadillac Country Club, one of my best friends in Dallas sent me the info. I actually got him to buy his first old Cadillac a few years ago. I own and attached a few pics a 67 Cadi Sedan deVille hard top. I have had the car for about 7 yrs and have had no major problems it is amazing how well built these cars are. I am deeply in love with the new Cadillac Ciel. I can only hope it goes to production, but like the XLR it can happen ( which by the way I have an 05 XLR). Look forward to chatting with other Cadillac lovers!
Hey Vinni, U should see if Jim would like a T-shirt of his ’67 deville?
I hope U make it threw this bad huricane and that Ur cailac’s are quite safe from harms way,
Dave

Love your car, Jim…you are right… it was built near the end of an era… designed and constructed without compromise, built to last…which it has!
Vinnie,
BEAUTIFUL CADILLAC!
We are fine from the storm. Bristol was flooded pretty badly too. I went down to New Haven when Irene came ashore and took dozens of pictures. I didn’t realize there were 65 MPH sustained winds until I got out of the car. The Cadillac was oblivious to them on the highway!
My first car at 19 was exactly like this—Champagne gold –vinyl white top–except mine was a coupe Deville !!!! I am a singer and because of this car I was nicknamed “Cadillac”, so I adopted the name ! I had sent the general manager of Cadillac Motorcar Division in Detroit and he saent me some Cadillac crest in miniature lapel pins–I wore some on T V on my suit–pretty cool–I thought –share a little bit of my history ! I now own a Black Cadillac 6-door limo—I call it my weekender—-lots of fun—lotsa smiles —’til then Cadillac signing off–the six-door is a 1995 only 66,000 miles since new—drives beautifully !!!!
