Last Monday I went to the New York Auto Show to see all the new Cadillacs. I really enjoy the show as I get to talk to all the knowledgeable people about Cadillac and get some insight as to whats coming down the pipe in the future. I took over 7000 pictures of all the Cadillacs and as you can imagine I will be doing some editing for a while. I will have to break up all the pictures probably over 3 or 4 newsletters. I just wanted to give you all a sneak peak.
This year the Cadillac section was in the north end of the Jacob Javits center. It was a nice change to be in that part of the building and I feel like it gave Cadillac more room to show off their cars. When I first got there I had to pass by the Chevy Volt model they had in the entrance and I learned all about how they work and stuff. I have to say the future is electric, now we have to build the infrastructure for it. As you headed into the Cadillac section you instantly see the Cadillac CTS-V race car.
The car looked amazing and it is not quite finished. It is the third car that Cadillac made for racing and the other two are actually at the races. It has less horsepower then the street version as it is not legal to race with a turbo charger. It has 535 horsepower where the production CTS-V has 556. It is also about 1000 pounds less then the production CTS-V.
Along side the race car was the 2011 CTS-V coupe from the Monticello Motor Club. It looked super fast and the black and red colors made it stand out.
Next to the CTS-V was the 2011 Cadillac CTS V Wagon. There were a lot of people looking at the wagon. What I like about it is it can take the place of the mini van. Yes I said Mini van in the same sentence as Cadillac but it is true. The power of the wagon satisfies the dad as he gets the power when he steps on the pedal and the Soccer mom has plenty of room for kids and plenty of room for groceries and stuff. Both the mom and dad have one car that they both love. Mom enjoys the extra power also. There were many comments about the front grill and most people liked it.
Next up was the Cadillac that everyone was going nuts over. The CTS-V Black Diamond Edition. Now I have to tell you taking pictures in the Jacob Javits center totally sucks. The lighting is not that great especially at car shows because there are so many colored lights all over the place. The Black Diamond edition paint is amazing and it was really hard to get the picture the same as real life but this picture seems to be the best of the bunch that I took. If you get a chance to see this car in person you need to do it. The picture doesn’t give it justice. Notice the graphite rims!
Next up was the CTS-V Sedan, it was very hard to get pictures of this car without people climbing all over it. Since it was next to the Black Diamond and people couldn’t get near it because of the lines they went to the car next to it. Having 4 doors people were getting in and out of the back seat and the front at the same time. I saw a lot of families getting in and out.
There you have it. I hope you enjoyed this journey through the Cadillac CTS-V section of the New York Auto Show. In the coming weeks I will have links up to all the photos. I also took a video or two of each car. They will be loaded up to our Youtube channel. Please subscribe to our channel and add us as a friend so you get an email when I load up a new video. The next post will be about the other Cadillacs at the New York Auto Show.
