I am still out in Arizona and a few weeks ago I had this flatbed truck pass us on the highway and I was wondering what it was exactly. My memory is so bad when it comes to Cadillacs pre-1960 it is bad. The thread we had where we had to guess what Cadillac we had before sparked a lot of attention and everyone seemed to like it. Lets do it again.
At first I didn’t think it was a Cadillac but when I blew up the picture it clearly has Cadillac spelled out and missing a few letters. The round lights under the headlights is what is throwing me off. What do you think it is? Leave a comment below with your thoughts.

Vinny,
Looks like a 1941 Series 62 Coupe and is a very nice, complete car. The discs under the headlights are were fog lights would have been positioned if so selected by the buyer. Absent the lights, Cadillac placed decorative covers to go over the holes in the fenders. They are supposed to be black and red with the V in the middle, but these look either to be machined reproductions or were plated at some point, which is incorrect. Nevertheless, someone has a nice restoration project ahead. 1941 parts are still generally readily available either NOS or quality reproduction.

Its a 1941!
Richard Ragodon says
It is most likely a 1941 Series 62 2 Dr Coupe. However, it is more rare if it is a series. By 1941, all Cadillacs are powered by a single V 8 engine. The last of the V-16 came out in 1940.

Hey Paul I was contacted by a TV show this past week that is restoring a 1959 Cadillac. They were looking for vintage memorabilia. I will get a link to you when it goes online.

I agree with Paul and submit this link as picture proof http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=1941+cadillac&qpvt=1941+cadillac&FORM=IGRE but if I undertand correctly (I was not there) the first models post-war (1946) were extentions of the pre-war models. I suppose there is a chance it could be a 1946. A nice find either way.

Just checked the ’46 link – I fully agree with Paul – it is a 1941.

The round things under the headlights on a 1941 Cadillac is fillers where the optional fog lights go.

Looks like we have a winner with 1941. I searched Google for pictures of every year from 39-49 and didn’t see anything that looked like it.

We were leaving phoenix on our way to Las Vegas so the Cadillac can be anywhere in between there. It could very well be going to Desert Valley auto parts http://www.dvap.com/ to join the other Cadillacs they have.

Just about everyone that is on here withh comments, knows what it is.
Its a ’41 with 42 signal lights in the grille.
’41 signal lights were where the round alliuminum circles are, thats where the were originally.
