Yesterday I attended the East Coast Car Association annual Toys for Tots Run. You have seen pictures from the shows I have been attending every Tuesday at Resorts World casino. What this car club does is have car cruise events all year long and then donates all the money they raise and buy toys for St Mary’s Hospital. Good bunch of people that have been doing this for years. The event yesterday was well attended by all the car guys that have come to the shows over the summer. They formed a line and cruised out to Bayside to the hospital to deliver the toys. I don’t have the amount of cars that attended probably over 100. Here is a picture of 90% of the cars.
As the event unfolded they had their usual 50/50 and handed out prizes. I was in for quite a shock when they presented me with a community service award for taking pictures for them at all the events. Very nice surprise as I love taking photos of all the cars. The Cadillacs usually end up on our site and the rest go to our Flickr account. I am very humbled to get recognized for doing something I love.
Most of the cars that were there yesterday are cars that I have taken pictures of all summer. There was one there though that was a first timer at a show a brand new 2014 Cadillac XTS owned by Joe who has had his other Cadillac on our site before during the 6 days of Cadillac post we had. Joe just picked it up a few days ago and I don’t exactly know what it is about the Cadillac but beyond being a sleek beautiful car it also demanded respect. Exactly what a Cadillac does I guess.
Look at this picture below of the Cadillac XTS grille and the Chevy in the background. There is no comparison when it comes to looks. The XTS just blows away the Chevy and makes it forgettable.
We had a lot of fun yesterday and I have to thank all the people at the East Coast Car Association for the award. I also have to thank Joe for letting me take all the pictures of his new XTS.
