World Record Cadillac Parade

By Vinny O'Hare

I got an email from Lorie from the Floral Hall Arts & Crafts at the Orleans County Fair in Barton, VT. They are going to attempt to have a Cadillac Parade and break the Worlds record for the largest gathering of Cadillacs. The current record is 102 and I think it can be broken. Below is some of the details that Lorie sent me. I am going to try my best to be there.

Henry M. Leland, inventor of both the Cadillac and Lincoln cars, is a native son of our fair town, Barton, VT. His family had a farm here for many years before they moved to MA.

We have a formal “Record Attempt Agreement” with Guinness for an attempt to break the existing record: A total of 102 Cadillac cars participated in a parade at the Cadillac Oldtimer Festival held in Leimuiderbrug, the Netherlands, on 18 August 2002.

We are also negotiating with Guinness to set the first ever record for the Largest Lincoln Parade at the same event which will be part of our Orleans County Fair held in August 17th through the 21st. The date and time has not been officially scheduled yet but will most likely be on Wednesday the 17th as our fair opener.

Could you please post our blog: http://vermontsocfnews.blogspot.com/ and website http://www.orleanscountyfair.net/ so anyone interested can get the latest updates and find pre-registration forms as soon as they are posted. You can also see them on FaceBook

Thank you,

Lorie M Seadale

Classic Cadillac Designer RIP Chuck Jordon

By Vinny O'Hare

Rest in Peace Charles “Chuck” Jordon. Chuck is known as the guy who designed all the Cadillac’s from the 1950’s that we so love. Thanks to Chuck we had some pretty cool things like Tail fins and cars that were designed with future in mind. Thanks Chuck Rest in Peace.

If you are a race fan I am sure you have seen the news that Cadillac is back in racing This sleek CTS-V will be making a comeback for the Sports Car Club of America World Challenge. I can’t wait to see it on the track.

I received a few emails this week thanking me for the information on the SRX recall. Let me just say I love it when people respond back to me it makes it all worthwhile. Feel free to drop a comment on the post. If you feel like sending pics and your story I am up for that as well. Our readers like to read all about other Cadillac fans.

Drive across country in a 1958 Cadillac
Here is one that every classic Cadillac owner has dreamed about but few have ever done. After reading about this cross country trip in a 1958 Eldorado you will want to take this trip yourself. I know I want to do it now.

Cadillac Plug-in Hybrid

You all know how much I love the Cadillac Converj (pictured above) since I saw it at the New York Auto show, well it seems like the technology from that concept may come to another Cadillac down the road. Reuters has a story about a new Cadillac Plug-in Hybrid that may or not be built soon. I hope it happens sooner rather then later.
