What Cadillacs Do You Own? – 70 Eldo, 74 Eldo, 86 Fleetwood 6 Door limo, 06 DTS

The 1970 Eldo 2 year biuld is complete and I thought other Caddy fans would like to see this classic. This 70 Eldo startd as an original car with 104,000 original miles on a healthy 500 cubic inch front wheel drive cruiser.
This car was an original barn find, where it had been in a barn storage for 18 years when I found it . I have had several Caddy’s but I always wanted to build a unique classic and it was decided that this was the one. After over a year of pondering and a trip to SEMA, I was ready to launch the project. For the first time ever, a front wheel drive Eldo of that vintage was going to be turned into the ultimate lowrider caddy.
This idea posed some significant design challenges and we locally fabricated a full 4 corner air ride suspension that would allow the car to lay frame. There have been lots of rear airbag systems but to my knowledge never on the front. Because of the front wheel drive axles being directly in the way of where an airbag would typically mount, we designed a system that would push down on the upper control arm, thus creating a 7 inch drop covering in a third of the rubber as shown in the photographs.
Doc Sabitino , the Cadillac Guru of Los Angeles had a custom hand made set of spoke wheel made for this car. Because of the strange offset, the front and rear rims do not interchange. I wrapped those gorgeous rims with a gangster wide whitewall radial skins that set the car off. The entire body was bare-metaled and sprayed with the Cadillac Tri-Coat white that turns heads on the modern Escalades. I then installed an E and G Classic cabriolet simulated convertible cloth padded roof.
The entire interior was re-sewn with an awesome blue velvet with custom Cadillac embroidery stitched into just below the headrests. We also created a custom console that houses the TV/DVD player that controls a 700 watt stereo, a back up camera, exterior lighting controls, a 26 inch LCD TV mounted in the trunk for car shows.
On the outside we installed custom LED lighting in the wheel wells , undercarriage and installed an on demand flame kit that that shoots 4 to 5 foot flames out the exhaust pipes.
This car has universal appeal to people of all ages from kids to bluehairs and everything in between. I am currently finishing a youtube video that will debut sometime in the next month. I will share the video access with other Caddy fand when it is ready. Thats how we roll up here in Canada.
That would be a nice Cadillac Eldorado to be hand drawn and hand painted on a T-shirt too., I have a metalic pearl white that would be very attractive on a T-shirt with your’70 Cadillac Eldorado hand painted on a T-shirt. WHY DID THIS PERSON HAVE TO SCREW UP A CLASSIC AUTOMOBILE “THE ONE IN THE PICTURE” WITH GROUND EFFECTS ??? THESE GROUND EFFECTS LESSENS THE VALUE OF THIS USED TO BE CLASSIC CAR. IF I WANTED A “1970” ELDORADO , I WOULD NEVER BUY A CLASSIC CAR WITH THESE THINGS ADDED TO IT. MAINLY, HE DID THIS TO PLEASE HIMSELF “NOT FOR OTHER TO LOOK AT IT, THIS IS WHAT THEY CREATED !!! THEY TOOK THE CLASSIC OUT OF IT AND TURNED IT INTO A COMMON STREET MACHINE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deborah I don’t agree with you. I think if the owner wants to do this to their car they can because they own it. What you think really doesn’t matter as long as the owner is happy that is all there is to it.
This car was heading towards a junkyard would you rather it be sent there as is? I don’t think so.
I respect your opinion but really at the end of the day couldn’t you just say nice job! The guy did a lot of work to this Cadillac and life is too short.
Jerry, great looking car! I hope you will post more pictures of it soon, or let us know if you have a website. I am always glad to see someone save one of our beloved battleships! These are a last of a breed that will never be reproduced and Cadillac had some wonderful designs in the 60’s and 70’s and I think this one is probably in the top two or three. I would have loved to have spent some time in the late 60’s in the design studios when these cars were developed, just to see the process. I have a 1951 Model 62 and recently sold a 1962 Coupe DeVille and both cars were other examples of Cadillacs bold designs and I enjoy/ed them alot. Yes Deborah Kay– there are purists and there are the “others”. It’s a big wide world for all to be able to do as they wish– I’d trade my three mint “purists” Cadillacs for that ride any day. Vinny, nice article. Very nice ride. First time I’ve seen side lights like that I agreed with. Beautiful!

Nice Ride! I´m from Germany and own a 1970th Eldorado. She was driven in San Diego up to 2005, was shipped to the Netherlands and i bought this Eldorado in Germany in 2010. She is a “drive and restore” project. Step by step she´ll become a shining star again.

What a beautiful car. My parents had a 1969 Eldorado, and I took my “dad’s” car out with friends and cruised Woodward in Detroit. It was one fast and smooth mother. I loved it.
This car is from my home town and in regards to the person that said they wouldnt buy a classic done up like this.. it isnt because you say it isnt classy its because you couldnt afford it lol. this car is g’d up from the feet up. Recognize!

Great car ! I was born in Beauval, SK. Adopted as a baby, lived 16 years in North Battleford, SK. Moved to Edmonton, AB. in 1969, then Calgary, Vancouver & finally Seattle, WA. till 2000 & now live on the Walker River Paiute Tribe Reservation in Schurz, Nevada ( Google Earth 2818 Sunset Drive – Schurz, NV ), you’ll see my 1970 ELDO in my yard. Sorry about telling you my life story ( I’m 62 now ). I’ve had my ELDO for 3 years, it runs; but needs paint-wheels & tires, upholstery, body & glass are good. I’ve removed the vinyl top as I want to have it painted one color. For me it comes to money ! I have a good job, but I’m the kind of guy who lives paycheck to paycheck as I have a 1997 Lincoln Mark 8, 2001 Ford Ranger, 1997 Merc Couger that I have to maintain. Jerry, can U email me details on how U put airbags on your ELDO ? Hope to hear from u soon.

not the first lowrider 70 eldo I did mine in 1989.however mine is hydraulic.
Great car .And great on the hiway . I have had 7 cadillacs from 55 to 59 and a newer one .My 58 coupe had airbags ?Still got two 59s a six window Deville and a 62 Convertable . I always wanted a 59 CVT and spent some time in Saskatoon looking for the one that was there .The fellow from Yorkton SK bought it and he told me a Doctor bought it new and put it in the basment of his house .When he died the house was sold and there was the car .I could just see him after a hard day at the hpospital He would go down stairs and sit in the car and relax .. I might confest that my convertable has been in storage for 38 years and I have done the same thing..The original owner died a couple of yesrs ago .I phoned her in Edmonton last year and she told me some interesting stories .about the car .The CVT is gray matalic with a blsck top and red and white in side There is two other gray matalic cars but with black and white inside .one in New York and one in Laughlin AZ .They were never hard on fuel for there size Enjoy Jerry George McKwnzie
