Thanksgiving and Stolen Escalades

By Vinny O'Hare

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and had time to take care of the leftovers too. We had a 16 pound turkey that went in no time flat.

I wish to say hello to all our new readers. In the last two weeks I have been flooded with emails from new members of the club. Thanks for reading and joining our little world. If there is anything I can do don’t hesitate to write.

Was just reading over on USNews about thieves and Cadillac Escalades. I found this story very interesting as it shows the way the thief’s are robbing the Escalades and what they are doing with the parts. Cadillac Escalades stolen

Growing up watching hockey Guy Lafeur was one of the best. Even though he beat my NY Rangers almost every time I still loved the way the guy played. Just found this story about Guy and how his First car was a Black Cadillac Eldorado. Good story and its good to see that one of my early hereo’s has his own Cadillac story.

Now on to something a little older I was surfing the internet and ran into this 1931 Cadillac owned by John Meyer. This sure is a beauty but I will let his pictures talk themselves.

A big congrats to Tim Franzen as he won a new Cadillac CTS Sports sedan from Bergstrom Cadillac of Green Bay and Good Day Wisconsin. Out of 80,000 entries Tim’s was the lucky winner.

I have been toying with the idea of putting a forum on the site. Between setting it up and moderating it, it would be a huge task for me. I think I will be adding it at the beginning of the year. I just have to choose the right software. I have been looking at a few choices and they almost do what I want it to do. I am open for suggestions if anyone knows good forum software that has a photo gallery.

1981 Cadillac Deville Restoration

By Vinny O'Hare

Steve sent me an email a while ago and I must have missed it as he sent in some great pictures of his 1981 Cadillac DeVille being restored. It is finally back on the road and it is starting to look great.

1988 Cadillac STS Concept

By Vinny O'Hare

Fred from Pennsylvania sent in a few pictures of his 1988 Cadillac STS. Here is some of the info Fred sent me.

1988 cadillac Seville

This STS is interesting in that it was one of the first STS units built. I have verified the vehicle and it is a pre-production prototype of the 1989 STS consumer vehicles. The car was custom built in May of 88 and shipped to a dealer in NH. The 1988 STS wasn’t shown to the public until June of 88 at the Detroit Grand Prix. Production started in June and 1499 were built. This particular car has a sticker on the door identifying it as having been custom built be the C&C group (Cars & Concepts) for the Cadillac division. Here is the picture if you care to use it, and I have included a picture of the C&C sticker.

You can see more pictures and information on our 1988 Cadillac STS concept page. Thanks Fred for sending it in I really appreciate it as I am sure our readers will also.

I got an email asking for help with their 94 if anyone has any ideas send me an email or leave a comment. Here is the email.

I have a 94 Concours with the Northstar engine that is overheating. Have replaced the water pump (this was the original problem when it started leaking around the o-ring seal, radiator, hoses, etc. The car sat for 5 years but now I have it running, but it still overheats. I suspect sediment in the heads, and am wondering if anyone knows of a cleaner that may remove the scale without having to result to pulling the heads to be ‘boiled out’. There is no evidence of antifreeze in the oil or in the cylinders, checked by pulling the plugs,

Suggestions? Many thanks,
Ed
