1980 Cadillac Deville For Free

By Vinny O'Hare

I think this could be the best Black Friday deal out there. A few days ago I received an email from Gary who is up near Modesto California who owns a 1980 Cadillac Deville that he is giving away to someone if they want it. The car has been sitting for a few years and Gary has told me it ran when he put it in the lot. The car has never been in a wreck and he bought the car new. He is into racing cars and simply doesn’t have the time to restore the Cadillac to it’s proper shape.

He just wants to see his Cadillac go to a good home. Below are some pictures and I have to tell you besides the paint rot on the trunk it looks like a nice solid car. These are cell phone pictures so I cleaned them up a bit so you can see the car better. The pictures were old and grainy. I don’t want Gary’s phone to go crazy with calls so reply to this email if you are interested and I will give you Gary’s contacts.

Toys For Tots Event With a New Cadillac XTS

By Vinny O'Hare

Yesterday I attended the East Coast Car Association annual Toys for Tots Run. You have seen pictures from the shows I have been attending every Tuesday at Resorts World casino. What this car club does is have car cruise events all year long and then donates all the money they raise and buy toys for St Mary’s Hospital. Good bunch of people that have been doing this for years. The event yesterday was well attended by all the car guys that have come to the shows over the summer. They formed a line and cruised out to Bayside to the hospital to deliver the toys.  I don’t have the amount of cars that attended probably over 100. Here is a picture of 90% of the cars.

As the event unfolded they had their usual 50/50 and handed out prizes. I was in for quite a shock when they presented me with a community service award for taking pictures for them at all the events. Very nice surprise as I love taking photos of all the cars. The Cadillacs usually end up on our site and the rest go to our Flickr account. I am very humbled to get recognized for doing something I love.

Vinny getting an award

Most of the cars that were there yesterday are cars that I have taken pictures of all summer. There was one there though that was a first timer at a show a brand new 2014 Cadillac XTS owned by Joe who has had his other Cadillac on our site before during the 6 days of Cadillac post we had. Joe just picked it up a few days ago and I don’t exactly know what it is about the Cadillac but beyond being a sleek beautiful car it also demanded respect. Exactly what a Cadillac does I guess.

Look at this picture below of the Cadillac XTS grille and the Chevy in the background. There is no comparison when it comes to looks. The XTS just blows away the Chevy and makes it forgettable.

We had a lot of fun yesterday and I have to thank all the people at the East Coast Car Association for the award. I also have to thank Joe for letting me take all the pictures of his new XTS.

Veterans Day Parade

By Vinny O'Hare

This past weekend I had the honor of photographing the Queens Veterans Day parade. For those that served I want to say “Thank you for your service”.

One of the guys from the weekly car cruise is on the parade committee so I of course said yes when he asked me. I wasn’t expecting to take pictures of Cadillacs but that ended up happening. I picked a spot near the end of the parade where the leaves in the trees were turning colors. There was also flags hanging from a few telephone poles. The local car clubs had all their cars line up near the end of the parade.

Flags on Cadillac Emblem

This was my favorite picture from the day. Although I would never encourage altering the proud Cadillac emblem this is ok by me. What a great way to show the veterans that you are honored to fly the flag. You can also se my pictures in the local paper. You can also see all the pictures from the parade on my Facebook page.

Photography Website

I have been working on getting up my photography website for a while now but I don’t think I have shared it here. I started Camerawe.com with the idea of sharing my photography and selling prints. If you would like to see what I take pictures of besides Cadillacs I encourage you to visit and sign up for the newsletter. You will also be able to buy prints through the Smugmug account I have set up. I have had a lot of fun with the camera this year, guess it has been some sort of therapy for me.
