1974 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible at Cruise Night

Once again I went to the local cruise night at Resorts world. This week besides the 55 Cadillac and the 1964 Cadillac there were a few new ones. There was a 1974 Cadillac Eldorado convertible that really stood out with the sun setting on it.

This beauty was parked next to a 1976 Coupe that was just as fine. I got to talking to the guys and they are from a local car club near me called the Bow Wow car club. Nice bunch of guys that didn’t mind a stranger taking pictures of their beautiful Cadillacs. I made a video of all the pictures from the two cars as they sat side by side.

I will probably make a few videos with the rest of the cars taken at the cruise night. Think I took about 200 pictures in all. You can find these car pictures here on our Flickr account.

Have to say I really enjoy going to the cruise night every Tuesday. After the show I head into the casino to get something to eat at the food court and drop a few dollars in the slot machines after and then head home and stay up until 3am editing pictures.  I usually upload them to Flickr and to our Facebook fan page. 1967 Cadillac DeVille Convertible

I would like to welcome Richard to our club. He has a beautiful 1967 Cadillac DeVille convertible.

I purchased this car in May of this year. Although it looks pretty good from 20′, there are a couple of small paint blemishes that I will take care of this winter. Otherwise the body and chrome are pretty straight. The car was repainted in 2006 by the individual I purchased it from. I believe everything is stock except for the after market 8-track, and except as noted below, everything works.

1967 Cadillac engine

The car wasn’t driven much over the past few years and routine maintenance and replacement of wear parts wasn’t done. Since I bought the car I have totally rebuilt the front end (upper and lower control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler arm and steering gear box) installed front disc brakes and new Cooper tires. Now it “drives like a Cadillac”.

After a complete tune-up it moves right out to about 80 mph then starts to float, so this winter I’ll pull the heads and replace the lifters and push rods, have the valves ground and new seats and guides installed and rebuild the carb and distributor.

I have a constant electrical drain and the climate control doesn’t work correctly and the air conditioner isn’t hooked up, so that gets addressed next week. The Portland CLC annual cruise-in and show is this weekend, so the next couple of days will be spent detailing the car to get ready for that. 1967 Cadillac in gargaeSorry the pictures aren’t better quality. Having Fun at Car Shows

Over the past couple of weeks I have been having a great time every Tuesday night at the local weekly car show I have been attending. Every Tuesday from 5-9pm my friends at the East Coast Car Association have a car show in the parking lot of the new Resorts World Casino in Ozone Park Queens. While there are only 4 or 5 Cadillacs each week they are always different. I love talking to the owners of these cars. Last week they had models show up that were promoting a big show that is coming up in a few weeks.

The models were walking and taking pictures and videos in front of the cars. When they stepped in front of the Allante I was forced to take a picture (Yeah Right lol)

You can see the rest of the car show pictures here. I am also teaching myself iMovie to make these pictures into videos. It is quite easy except for finding music for them. If anyone in the club is a musician and wants to throw me a song for the videos I would be happy to take it.

More Frequent Cadillac Newsletters

With the house almost repaired I will have time to send newsletters more frequently. All I have left is kitchen cabinets and they should be in next week. I will be very glad when the house is done.  I am thinking about sending out shorter newsletters more often. Funny thing is if I don’t send a newsletter in more than a week I get emails asking if I am ok.

New England Region Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand National

I have to thank Chris from the NERCLC for allowing me to have an ad in their brochure for the 2103 Grand National. If you missed the show you can still get Cadillac merchandise like posters and hats. I also have to thank Earle for sending me a brochure with our ad in it. It is very much appreciated. Glad to have something Cadillac related back into the house.
