Cadillac RV’s

By Vinny O'Hare

I just got an email from the show “Rock my RV” that stars Brett Michaels from the band Poisin. If you haven’t seen it the show is pretty good. Well as good as a show about RV’s can be. Since I have been in Arizona all I have been hearing and seeing is about RV’s. We are actually thinking about renting one to get us and our stuff back to NYC, but I doubt we will since its super expensive for one way rentals.

Anyway this weeks episode of Rock my RV will be featuring a “Cadillac Themed” RV makeover (Whatever that is?). You may want to check it out. It is on the travel channel on Sunday night at 9pm EST. I will be watching. The email got me thinking about Cadillacs and RV’s. I was surprised when I did a google search for that term that I got so many results as Cadillac and RV’s are not something you hear about everyday.

It seems that a lot of people either cut up their Cadillacs to make an RV or there was a few coach builders back in the day that actually converted Cadillacs into an RV. This one is more of a camper but you will see what I mean. Like this one below that I found on the Hemmings blog. Big V-8 motor in there to help get up hills it sounds like the perfect combo.

Cadillac Won’t Be Making The Cadillac Ciel or ATS Convertible

I am sad to report that Cadillac has killed off the idea of making the Cadillac Ciel concept car that so many of us loved when we first reported it. I am guessing the car would be too expensive and put it way out of the price range of the common people. When I first saw it I fell in love with it as most did here in the club. Will the Ciel come back as something else like the Converj did? We can only hope so.

In the same announcement we also found out that Cadillac won’t be building the ATS into a convertible either. This is something that I am personally sad about. I am still holding out hope that they may change their mind as the years go by. If they don’t do it I may have to make one myself.

AACA Cadillac LaSalle Show Hershey PA

By Vinny O'Hare

Our club member Dan Gouker went to the AACA Cadillac and LaSalle show in Hershey PA this past weekend and sent us in some pictures. He also send me a ton of pictures from inside the AACA museum that will be put in another newsletter. Dans XLR won first place for its category. Congrats Dan and thank you for sending in the pictures!

Here is the rest of Ludo’s pictures of his Cadillacs that I told you about in our last newsletter. If you missed it you can see pictures of his 2001 Cadillac Eldorado ESC here.

Ludo was kind enough to send in some great pictures of each of his Cadillacs. He is over in Belgium and has driven all over the USA. This Cadillac had only 16000 miles and is a Diamond white exterior with saddle interior.

Update for Gmail Users of Our Cadillac Club

Gmail has been rolling out a new inbox with labels like “Promotions” and stuff. There is a chance that our emails will end up in this folder. I want you to add Vinny@cadillaccountryclub to your contact list and when you get an email from the club make sure it goes into your primary inbox. This is going to be a major pain for anyone using Gmail.

When you get an email from me, drag and drop the email into your “Primary” inbox.

Then, you’ll get an alert saying, “This conversation has been moved to “Primary.” Do this for future messages from vinny@cadillaccountryclub.com?” And click “YES!” Thanks everyone! BTW if you are using another email client like Yahoo or MSN you should add me to your contact list also so you get the emails delivered to your inbox and not your spam folder.

Route 66 Merchandise is Coming

Ever since I picked up a t-shirt and some other stuff on Route 66 I have been looking for places that sell Route 66 souvenirs. I realize that there are a lot of people all over the world that would love something from this historical route. In the next newsletter I will have links to some places. I already found a cool place for shirts.

Cadillac Grand National Meet

Today is the last day to register your Cadillac for the Cadillac LaSalle club Grand National Meet in Boston. I know that we will have at least one member there as Earle is bringing a Cadillac or two. I am sure Earle will take a few pictures for us. For more information Visit the New England Region Cadillac and LaSalle Club. I am sad that I won’t be making it this year. Hopefully you can make it and see all the beautiful Cadillacs.
