Plastic Filler Parts For a Cadillac

This past Tuesday I was at the East Coast Association cruise night at Resorts again and I met up with Danny who has a beautiful 1978 Cadillac with gold leaf trim. We sat there talking about his car and all that went into it and the topic came up about filler panels. I told him I know a place in Florida that has them and I was surprised when he told me that is where he got his. Plasticpartsinc is the name of the store and they have been in business for years. I talked to the owners on the phone about 2 years ago but for some reason I didn’t put a link to them at the time and I forgot all about them. Anyway when I get home I have an email from them asking to be on our site. They told me if you are ordering by phone and you mention “Cadillac Country Club” they will give you 10% off. I know we have Cadillac owners out there that need filler parts and I am just trying to save you some money. Sometimes it pays to be in our free club. I get no compensation from them, just trying to match up good companies with people that need them.

1998 Cadillac Repair Question

I received an email from a lady in Ohio that is having some repair questions and wanted to pass them along to see if someone here could help her.

“I have a 1998 Cad STS that I like and take care of. The auto place pulled the engine as it had an oil leak, and he broke the “ribbon,” at he bottom of the steering column, and said I would have to pay for the part and labor. HE broke it. But said it’s an old car and it would have broken anyway. I asked another auto person, and he said he either pulled the engine out with it still attached, or he had to jerk it real hard and broke it. It’s at the bottom of the steering column. Now I’m really in a fix. What do you think about that area where the “ribbon” is. Would it break easily as he said, or not? All systems that have connections to the steeling wiring, are non working.”
