Cool Cadillac Picture With New Canon Camera

By Vinny O'Hare 3 Comments

Just got back from a trip to Las Vegas on business. A few days before my girlfriend Debbie surprised me by getting me a new camera. A few months ago when I was back in New York I went to the canon event for the new Canon 7D Mark II and was so impressed with it I knew I had to have it. Although money is tight with the new flood insurance bill going up (Big surprise there huh) Debbie knew that it was time to get my mind off that and upgrade my 10 year old camera. Half way to Las Vegas we pulled off along the side of the road. While Debbie was taking photos of Joshua trees I was casually taking photos of the cars going by at anywhere from 80-90 MPH.  I was a good 100 yards from this Cadillac CTS V coupe when I snapped a photo. Look at the wheels you can really see the car was moving.

Major Website Change Coming

Over the next few weeks Google is changing the way they rank websites based on mobile. Unfortunately our main site was built to not be friendly with these changes and we will be taking a hit in the search rankings. I have to move the thousands of pages that were hand coded over to a new system. The good news is the site will look better on tablets, iPhones, and iPads. The bad news is it is going to take me weeks to transfer all the pages one at a time.

New Member Spotlight Eugene and his 1957 Cadillac El Dorado Seville

By Vinny O'Hare 4 Comments

Just got a cool email from Eugene from Oregon who wanted to share pic of his 1957 Cadillac El Dorado Seville and his story.

1957 Cadillac El dorado seville

“When I was 18 years old, I started pestering this old man about his cadillac. This went on for 14 years until I got the car. Then after 2 wives later, it was time for me and my cadillac. For the last 8 years I have been restoring the car and just completed it last summer with a total frame off restoration. I am ready to start enjoying her this year now that I am 60 years old! This has been committed relationship.”

Thanks Eugene and welcome to the club. Click here To see more 1957 Cadillac info and pictures.

The other day I shared some 1950 Cadillac pictures and Earle left a comment that he was interested in seeing the 1977 Cadillac.

Route 66

By Vinny O'Hare 2 Comments

Our friend Paul took a trip to remember across Route 66. No Margie his 1959 Cadillac Seville didn’t make the trip with him but his father did. Paul and his dad Joe made the trip in a Ford Fairlane. They started in Santa Monica and worked their way to Chicago. Once they were there they decided to drive to the East Coast.

Being in Arizona and traveling myself I have become quite fond of Route 66 and the quirky things that you see. While most of us can’t take a trip across Route 66 we can live it through Paul’s pictures.

U.S. Route 66 (US 66 or Route 66), also known as the Will Rogers Highway and colloquially known as the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. Route 66 was established on November 11, 1926—with road signs erected the following year.[2] The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in America, originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending at Santa …

Cadillac That Runs By Burning Wood

By Vinny O'Hare 2 Comments

This Cadillac has been all over the news reports this week. I really get a kick out of the way this Cadillac looks from behind. I can’t imagine what drivers are thinking when they get behind this Cadillac. I am sure this wouldn’t pass many emission test. I am glad to see people thinking outside the box though.

If you were filthy rich in 1940, this would be your car. When Cadillac was “Standard of the World,” it built cars like this convertible sedan. It was a bodystyle that was falling out of favor by the advent of World War II, so cars like this 1940 Cadillac Series 75 that is being auctioned at Mecum’s Seattle 2014 event June 13-14 have been a top collectible for years.

Q: Hi Greg. I really enjoy your answers to reader’s questions, so I’m throwing my two cents in. I know you like Cadillacs and that you’ve owned a few yourself. How about telling us when you feel were the worst years for Cadillac during your years, be it sales or development? I had a 1971 Cadillac back in the day, but it was a used one. Cadillac Tow Trucks

It seems like the first Cadillac tow truck information we had on the site may be a little off. After reading this article it seems that Cadillac tow trucks may have been a little different than we think.

While perusing a recent issue of the Caddie Chronicle, the newsletter of the Potomac Region of the Cadillac La Salle Club, we came across the interesting tidbit that the first tow truck was not built atop some heavy-duty truck chassis, as one would expect, but atop a 1913 Cadillac.

Cadillac Pictures

Something really cool happened this week. Most of you don’t know but my day job is working with websites to get them better in the search engines. A few weeks ago I changed some things on the site to try to get the site to do better for the term “Picture of Cadillac”.

I was surprised when I looked at the search term the other day and noticed Pauls 1959 Cadillac as the very first picture. His “Margie” is being seen by people all over the world. Pretty cool stuff.

Thats it for our newsletter for this week. Are you guys liking the new format? Leave me a comment below and let me know. If you ever have any news you want to share end me an email and I will share it with everyone.

Cadillacs That Shaped The Company

By Vinny O'Hare 2 Comments

Our friend Earle sent over a great article on the history of Cadillacs and how they shaped the company into what it is today. I enjoyed clicking on all the pictures in the slideshow and seeing the history. I thought you may enjoy it also.  Thanks Earle for sending it into us.

The Cadillacs that shaped Cadillac - MSN Autos

The Cadillacs that shaped Cadillac – MSN Autos

14 great cars from America’s most enduring luxury brand Cadillac!Cadillac was formed in 1902 by Henry Leland, an engineer who named his new company after a French explorer who founded Detroit. A former gunsmith, Leland understood precision craftsmanship. That dedication to quality earned Cadillac a reputation for excellence and sparked the “Standard of the World” ad slogan that would define the brand. Cadillac was indeed the standard of the world through the 1960s, but its reputation diminished in the latter part of the 20th century. A product renaissance that started in the early 2000s continues to this day, and Cadillac’s current models once again rank among the world’s best.

I saw this 1959 Cadillac over in the Hemmings auctions and can’t wait to see what it goes for. I think I am going to include more Cadillac auctions in our newsletter.

Of course if you want to see all the live auctions on EBay you can head to the forum. We added a special section a few weeks back that pulls live auctions for just Cadillacs.
